Our founder’s journey from rural landscapes of Champaran, Bihar, to the Engineering hub of Germany, Sundaram’s journey is one of impactful entrepreneurship. Bhavishya is brand born from my urge to giving back to the community, and driven by a passion for women financial empowerment, and increasing girls participation in STEM. Armed with a computer engineering degree and experience in both India and Europe, she chose to leave a comfortable corporate life to champion Indian art and craft on the global stage. Her motivation stemmed from a profound understanding of the challenges faced by rural women, a reality she witnessed firsthand during her childhood. While living in Germany, she decided to turn her dream of sustainable development into reality. Leaving a stable job was a significant leap, but it reinforced her commitment to empowering women who had never experienced financial independence. Through meticulous research and direct engagement with artisans, she built a business that not only celebrates India’s artistic heritage but also provides crucial economic opportunities.
Suddenly leaving a well-settled career and the feeling of not receiving a monthly check into the account had a significant impact on me. It made me think of the fellow women who never felt the accomplishment of earning or being self-sufficient – Sundaram Kumari Jha
